The European Union has proposed a common charging standard for smartphones and other electronic devices throughout the block. This is Apple Inc, which, if adopted, is currently used in all new smartphones. This is a move that effectively bans the use of its own “Lightning” charging port. ..
The proposal requires that all electronic devices sold in the EU use the same type of charging port, the so-called “USB-C” format. It’s already widespread on laptop computers, Android phones, and many other non-Apple devices. Some Apple Mac computers have a USB-C charger, but the iPhone doesn’t. They need to be redesigned to comply with the proposed regulations.
