Amazon turns to Marshawn Lynch for a new Thursday Night Football studio show

Amazon Prime Video targets Marshawn Lynch as a feature reporter / analyst for the exclusive Thursday Night Football package starting next season.

According to sources, Amazon expects the possibility of lynching to be part of a more relaxed studio-type show and to conduct interviews. Lynch, 36, could use his sense of humor to report on the city in which the game is played.

Amazon declined to comment.

In creating a new broadcast, Amazon is trying to start with reliability, infusing some new aspects into the presentation. We have had extensive negotiations with Al Michaels, the legendary NBC player-by-player play-by-player, to lead the main broadcast. Michael’s contract has not yet been signed, but negotiations are underway. Amazon has also invited NBC Sunday Night Football Executive Producer Fred Gaudeli to oversee the presentation of the game.

As Posts reported a few months agoThe main candidates to partner with Michaels are Troy Aikman, Drew Brees, Cris Collinsworth, and the Mysterious Candidate. This means that a well-known ex-coach or player will be interested. Amazon has other streams as well as ESPN’s alternative presentations like Manningcast.

Lynch appeared with Peyton and Eli Manning in September and mistakenly swore “What f–k?” Peyton later apologized for Miss Peak.

The appearance of Lynch was generally well received. Now Amazon wants it more.

Apple and MLB

The idea that Apple can air Major League Baseball is important not because of what it is, but because of what it means.

MLB is important, but its individual regular season games aren’t that important to most non-enthusiastic fans. Therefore, each of these one or two games per league-wide game has the same zip code as Amazon’s 12-year contract to air the standalone rights to Thursday Night Football, even if it airs exclusively on Apple TV +. Not.

Its NFL / Amazon contract is over $ 1 billion annually. If the deal with Apple and MLB is realized, it will be much less. However, Apple TV + can experiment with sports to see if anything can be built in that ecosystem. These are a kind of leftovers as they are games that the network doesn’t want. Very low risk for Apple.

But the world of sports media has been waiting for Apple to actually enter the game. Amazon has done a great job in its relationship with the NFL and the Yankees. There you have the ownership of Jesus. Internationally, we already had a collection of premier soccer, tennis and cricket matches. You don’t start with the Super Bowl. However, it ends here.

This is the beginning of Amazon. It may also apply to Apple. Therefore, it can be very important to the viewer in terms of how the viewer will ultimately watch the game.

Clicker book club

Those who don’t like another book about Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. Daddy clickers say fans will enjoy, “Maris & Mantle: The Age of Two Yankees, Immortality and Camelot, “By Tony Castro. Castro’s detailed book jumped a few years before the historic home run chase, well beyond the spectacular 1961. Papa Clicker doesn’t offer 61 homers, but 4.2 out of 5 clickers mean it’s worth trying “Maris & Mantle” if you’re interested in this subject.
