After Thanksgiving, Shoppers Look Forward to Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals

New York — Eating and socializing on Thursdays and shopping on Fridays is the plan for many.
The holiday shopping season black friday Cyber Monday is estimated to be the biggest ever. But analysts say the retail landscape is changing rapidly, reports CBS2’s Dave Carlin.
Like Unicorn, Hudson Yards’ PIQ, which specializes in toys for children, was busy on Thanksgiving Day when most retailers were closed.
Store manager Steve Luciano said, “Yeah, I laid off the whole team so everyone could spend time with her family. And I decided to be here to spread happiness.” “My family was born and raised in New York, but we’re going to be together a little later today.”
He said he expects the store to be even busier on Friday.
The National Retail Federation estimates that 166.3 million people plan to shop from Black Friday to Cyber Monday. 8 million more than last year.
“Today’s shoppers are very savvy when it comes to shopping and finding what works best for them,” NRF’s Katherine Cullen said.

The trend is a mix of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with the same deals offered over an extended period of time on both days.
The reason is that more shoppers are turned off by the disruption of store door busters. Especially now, in the post-pandemic situation.
Tiffany Cesay, a tourist from Los Angeles, said, “I think the sale can be done anytime. It doesn’t have to be on the same day, and I don’t like crowds, so I’d like to sell it at another time.”
Bert Bellaire, a tourist in Lafayette, Louisiana, added, “Nothing good for Black Friday shopping.”
Therefore the deal is extended.

Another incentive for retailers is shipping delays due to the pandemic. The product finally arrived, but there were too many and the warehouse was full. Deep discounts are designed to move that surplus inventory.
Kristin Gull, president of Rakuten, rewards cashback apps that partner with thousands of retailers.
“They don’t have space in their warehouses. They’re going to cut prices on everything,” Gal said.
So the gist of the story is that you can wait longer and expect great deals only if your shopping list is general and flexible enough.
If what you’re looking for is very specific, we recommend going ahead and getting the item on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
