KABUL, June 15 (Xinhua) — Afghanistan has increased the budget of the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Persons from 9.5 billion Afghanis to 12 billion Afghanis, the ministry’s Deputy Finance Minister Karimullah said on Thursday.
The Afghan government said the registration process for the families of martyrs and disabled people has resumed after a four-month hiatus.
The Afghan government said more than 3,500 ineligible households in 15 provinces had been removed from the ministry’s list and stripped of their privileges in the future.
The Afghan government said poor families would receive their wages before Eid al-Adha.
This comes as hundreds of families of martyrs and disabled people recently complained that they had not yet received their allotted funds. (1 USD is equivalent to 86 Afghanistan)
