Kabul, May 14 (Xinhua)-Afghanistan announced on Saturday a national budget of 231.4 billion Afghanistan (US $ 2.6 billion) for the 1401 fiscal year in the Persian calendar starting March 21, 2022.
Of the total, 203.5 billion Afghanistan will be allocated to the regular budget and 27.9 billion Afghanistan will be allocated to the development budget, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, deputy prime minister of Afghanistan’s interim government, told reporters.
According to the Hanafi school, the budget was announced following a final review by the Cabinet and approval by Taliban Supreme Leader Mullah Hibatullah Akhnzada.
“This year’s budget, whether in the field of education or in the salaries, defenses and other parts of government officials, will be covered by national revenue sources without foreign contributions,” he said.
He said there is a shortage of 44 billion afghans, but the government will achieve that goal with an effective fiscal plan. (1 US dollar is equivalent to 88 afghani)
