A woman bust trying to pass a DC security checkpoint: cop

According to officials, the woman tried to pass a security checkpoint in Washington, DC, pretending to be a law enforcement officer, but then fled from a real police officer before being arrested.

The suspect approached the checkpoint on Saturday at about 8:45 am and said she was in law enforcement, the US Capitol police said in a statement.

According to the USCP, the woman presented a challenge coin as proof. This is a commemorative accessory commonly given by the military and law enforcement agencies to commemorate achievements or special occasions.

According to the USCP, police officers continued to ask women who were not immediately identified by name, but she rushed by car.

According to officials, she stopped again a short distance from the checkpoint and was arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer, not following police officers, and fleeing the law enforcement officer.

According to the department, the woman subsequently underwent a psychiatric evaluation and was detained in the USCP cell block.

Within 24 hours of a Virginia man allegedly stuffed with a pistol, a bust appeared and 500 ammunition were arrested after attempting to pass a parliamentary checkpoint without proper inauguration.

Beltway is heavily armed, including thousands of National Guards, in anticipation of the January 6 deadly riots at the Capitol and the inauguration of Joe Biden on Wednesday.
