A “very influential” winter storm hits the northeast

Snow, ho, ho!

According to Accuweather, the northeast needs to prepare for a “very influential” winter storm starting on Wednesday. This is a wave of weather that can deliver enough powder for White Christmas.

When a powerful storm hitting the west coast moves east, it can cause 6 to 10 inches of snow from Virginia to New York City, and perhaps southern New England.

“It’s going to be a kind of fluffy snow,” Accuweather’s senior meteorologist Tom Cainz told the post on Sunday.

“Sure, much of this snow can last until Christmas, which obviously makes Santa easier,” he said.

Depending on the course of the storm, rain, snow, and ice can be messy in areas such as Washington DC, southern New Jersey, and Long Island.

But outside of these areas, you shouldn’t count on idyllic winter wonderlands, Cainz said.

“The downside is that the wind is blowing,” said Cainz, who warned that strong gusts of up to 30 mph swirl the snow, reducing visibility and creating a snowstorm.

The storm is expected to arrive on Wednesday and last overnight, keeping people indoors and off the road.

“We expect it to snow in the afternoon, so commuting on Wednesday evening will be a problem,” Cainz said.

Meteorological experts said roads are unlikely to be cleared in time for Thursday morning commute. This means that schools holding face-to-face classes are likely to be closed.

This week’s weather drama begins on Monday with a fierce storm.

The New York City Department of Health issued a “Winter Operational Recommendation” at the beginning of the week on Sunday.

“Our snowball fighting equipment is ready for winter weather.” The agency tweeted.

Kines explains: [first] The storm may be, it will bring some cooler air behind it, so it lays the foundation for the rest of the week. “

According to Kinnes, this winter’s mix means people have to be strategic when it comes to holiday shopping plans.

“People who had plans to shop this week — your best is Tuesday and Friday,” he said.
