New York

A potentially large winter storm is heading towards New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Here’s what you need to know:

New York (WABC)-Be prepared for one or two winter weather this week as it will rain and snow tomorrow and a major winter storm can occur later on Wednesday.

In New York City, it rains a bit before and after tomorrow’s dawn, and cold air arrives in the afternoon, mixing with moist snow.

This is primarily wet snow in the highlands north and west of the city, especially along I-287 and northwest, with a possibly 1-inch slash deposit coated.

Some of Poconos and Catskills may receive 1-2 inches before everything is done by sunset.

On Tuesday, cold, dry air masses settle in the northeast, preparing the materials needed for what could be a major winter storm in the middle of the week.

The system snows on Wednesday afternoons as it climbs the shore, sometimes staying heavy all night long (it can last until Thursday morning).

Later on Wednesday, the winds will be stronger as the storms will be more intense offshore and gusts can exceed 40 mph.

It causes snowstorms and drifting snow, reduces visibility and makes travel conditions dangerous.

A total of 6 “-10” snow can fall along the I-95 Corridor, including New York City. In the north and west, cold temperatures can cause fluffy snow.

Deviations in the storm track can cause mixing problems in the south and east of the city, which can reduce totals.

This forecast may be adjusted in the coming days, as we are still in the early stages of the game and have a clear picture of how this storm will evolve.
