A man in Oregon, who was reportedly exiled by one of the state’s devastating wildfires, was charged with killing him at a motel where he temporarily lived.
KTVL quoted police as reporting that Robert Kegan, 47, was accused of shooting 19-year-old Aidan Ellison in a parking lot at Stratford Inn in Ashland on Monday morning.
According to Ashland Police Chief Tighe O’Meara, Keegan, who was staying at the motel with his little son, was angry with Ellison for playing loud music in the parking lot around 4 am.
Authorities said the suspect confronted Ellison and shot him deadly.
Ellison was found with a gunshot wound on his chest.
Keegan was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and illegal possession of firearms, the report said.
The talented suspect and his son were staying at the hotel as victims of the Almeda fire.
A mountain fire that burned in September destroyed the cities of Talent and Phoenix.
