New York (CBSNewYork) — A woman was shot in the face on a bus at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, on Tuesday afternoon.
She is the second innocent bystander hit in the city within 24 hours.
As reported by Ali Baumann of CBS2, the bus driver heard some bullets ring. According to police, the 70-year-old victim was sitting behind the bus when he grabbed his cheek with a bullet.
The video shows a small bullet hole piercing a tire sign behind the bus.
At around 2:30 pm, police were called to Fulton Street near Tompkins Avenue and were informed that a woman on a B25 bus had a gunshot wound on her head.

Officials said the shooting took place outside the bus and the victim was not the intended target.
There were dozens of people on the bus at the time, but there were no other reports of injuries. The woman was in traumatic arrest when the EMS arrived. They rushed her to Kings County Hospital, where she was in a stable condition.
“The bus driver drove about a block up when passengers warned him that a bullet had hit the back of the bus,” said New York Police Department detective Rodney Harrison.

Police were looking for surveillance videos, talking to witnesses, and trying to determine the cause of the shooting.
There was no immediate arrest, but police believe the suspect wore a reddish jacket.
