A 13-year-old Connecticut girl was reportedly found strangled in the basement of her apartment.
Zaniya Wright was found in a “common area” of a family-free building in Manchester the following Friday morning when it was reported missing. Witness News 3 reported..
A family friend, Arena Baker, told the station that grade 7 was a victim of bullying and her family urged police to search for a building on Alcott Street.
It was not clear why the family wondered why she was there.
“Zania was a very strong girl,” Baker told the station.

“I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to Zanya’s family, her many friends, and the people of our entire community who were traumatized by this horrific news,” said Matthew Geary. The director said in a letter.
“For everyone who knew Zania in both school and the community, this was a sad and incredibly sad day.”
