1 killed, 1 critically after car crashes into LIRR yard in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn

Prospect Heights, Brooklyn (WABC) — One died and another was in critical condition after his car was abandoned at a training ground in Brooklyn Friday afternoon.

FDNY rescued two people from a car that had fallen into the LIRR train yard near the intersection of Atlantic and Vanderbilt Avenues.

The driver suffered a medical accident when he flipped the barrier at an intersection and landed on the depot below.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
